There is quite a flurry of prerequisites for questing, most being reputation requirements. It is a good idea to max out these reputations beforehand. There is also a level requirement of being at least level 80 to obtain the class. While not explicitly stated for any quest, it is VERY recommended you get the Blinding Light of Destiny, specifically the Blinding Mace of Destiny weapon due to the fact you are required to farm Blinding Auras for the first book the Book of Magus. Otherwise, head to /archmage and start the quests with Warlic.

Make sure you do the quests above each 5 times. As you require 5 Unbound Tomes (reward for the following quest), you must do each of the book quest 5 times.
